China Molybdenum and Iron (HS: 72027000) Latest Import and Export Analysis for 2023

Issuing time:2024-01-26 Author:Alisa Back to list

Molybdenum iron is primarily composed of molybdenum and iron. Molybdenum iron alloy is widely used in industrial sectors that demand high material performance, owing to its high-temperature stability, corrosion resistance, and other special properties.

For instance, due to its excellent high-temperature stability and oxidation resistance, molybdenum iron alloy is commonly utilized in the manufacturing of high-temperature alloys for applications in aerospace, aviation engine components, rocket propulsion systems, and other high-temperature environments.

Given its strong resistance to corrosion, molybdenum iron alloy is also extensively employed in the production of corrosion-resistant alloys for equipment used in the chemical industry, marine engineering, and other corrosive environments. Additionally, due to molybdenum's nuclear properties, molybdenum iron alloy finds applications in the nuclear industry, including the manufacturing of materials for nuclear reactor structures and other nuclear equipment.

China has consistently been one of the world's largest producers and consumers in the molybdenum iron industry. Internationally, China serves as both a producer and a trading partner for molybdenum iron. The main sources of China's molybdenum iron imports include South Korea, while its exports are primarily distributed to markets such as Indonesia, South Korea, the Netherlands, Taiwan, India, Japan, South Africa, Turkey, and Mexico.

The international market plays a significant role in influencing the trade of molybdenum iron in China. According to customs data, the cumulative import and export value of molybdenum iron in China from January to December 2023 was USD 449,070,970, with a 6.16% year-on-year increase. During the same period, the total import and export quantity was 13,469,387 kilograms, reflecting a 16.88% decrease. Among these, the export quantity was 8,521,750 kilograms, with an export value of USD 287,426,618. The import quantity was 4,947,637 kilograms, with an import value of USD 161,644,352.

Looking at the monetary aspect, the export value of molybdenum iron gradually decreased from 2018 to 2020 but experienced a rapid increase in 2021, reaching USD 405,304,764. However, in 2022 and 2023, it declined again, although remaining higher than the preceding years. In terms of quantity, molybdenum iron exports fluctuated slightly from 2018 to 2020 but showed a significant growth in 2021, reaching 18,778,439 kilograms. Subsequently, there was a decrease in 2022 and 2023, but the quantity remained relatively high.

This trend change overall reflects a phased increase in China's molybdenum iron industry. The upward trend is closely related to China's rapid response to the COVID-19 pandemic and policy adjustments during the pandemic. The orderly resumption of work and production in China helped maintain a competitive advantage in the international market, contributing to the maintenance and enhancement of its share in foreign trade.

As the first data company in China, Guotong can provide customs data for imports and exports from more than 80 countries since 2010. It enables precise analysis of market distribution, detailed transaction information of import and export enterprises, specific price and quantity analysis, supply cycles, etc. This reliable data serves as a basis for major foreign trade enterprises and industry consulting companies.
