The latest foreign trade export situation of Chinese flanges (HS: 73072100, 73079100)

Issuing time:2024-05-31 Author:Alisa Back to list

Flanges, also known as Flange in English, are connecting components typically used to join pipes, valves, pumps, and other equipment, ensuring the密封 and fastening of a system. They are connected to another flange or a flanged part using bolts, with a gasket placed in between to prevent leakage of media such as liquids or gases. Depending on factors like material, pressure rating, connection method, and surface treatment, flanges come in various types and standards. Common examples include carbon steel flanges, stainless steel flanges, alloy steel flanges, and adhere to multiple international and regional standards like ANSI, DIN, JIS, GB, among others。

Flanges, widely used as connecting components in the industrial sector, have a substantial global market demand, particularly in industries such as petrochemicals, energy, shipbuilding, construction, and water treatment。

As one of the world's largest manufacturing and exporting countries, China hosts a multitude of flange manufacturers capable of supplying a wide range of specifications and materials, from low to high-end products, boasting robust production capacity that caters to the substantial global deman。

According to customs data, from 2018 to 2023, China's flange export values initially rose and then declined, peaking in 2022 at USD 1,427,806,195, followed by a decrease to USD 1,214,033,505 in 2023. In terms of export volume, from 2018 to 2023, aside from a slight dip in 2021, there was an overall ascending trend, culminating in a peak of 502,102,141 kilograms in 2023. However, for the period of January-April 2024, total exports fell year-on-year by 15.76%, while the total export volume increased by 12.98% compared to the same period the previous year。

While the export volume saw an increase from 2019 to 2022, the export value did not consistently rise in tandem, indicating fluctuations in the average export price per flange during this period. This reflects changes in factors such as costs, exchange rates, market supply and demand dynamics, with the global pandemic also being a significant influencing factor。

China's export market for flanges is diverse and widespread, primarily focusing on Asia and Europe, followed by the Americas and African markets.          Neighboring Asian countries, due to their geographical proximity and regional economic integration, constitute significant export destinations for Chinese flanges. Key recipients include South Korea, Japan, Southeast Asian nations (such as Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand), and the Middle East region (including Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Iraq, among others). Demand from these regions is largely driven by industries like oil and gas, chemicals, construction, and water treatment.

In the European market, particularly in countries such as Germany, the UK, Italy, and the Netherlands, which are known for their advanced industries, there is a steady demand for Chinese flanges, primarily used in sectors like machinery manufacturing, energy, and automotive.

In the American market, the United States and Canada stand as significant overseas markets for Chinese flanges. The US, in particular, with its substantial industrial base and extensive energy sector requirements, has a high demand for flanges.Countries in Latin America, such as Brazil and Mexico, with their abundant petroleum resources and infrastructure construction projects, also represent important export destinations for Chinese flanges. Meanwhile, as African nations accelerate their infrastructure development and industrialization processes, countries like South Africa and Nigeria are emerging as new markets for Chinese flange exports.

It is noteworthy that different markets have varying requirements regarding product specifications, materials, and standards (e.g., ANSI in the United States, DIN in Europe, ISO, etc.). Consequently, Chinese suppliers must adapt their production and obtain necessary certifications based on the specific demands of their target markets to fulfill the diverse needs of international clients.
