Stearic acid (HS: 38231100) latest import and export statistics in China

Issuing time:2023-07-28 Author:Alisa Back to list

Hard acid is a type of fatty acid, typically extracted or synthesized from animal and plant oils and fats. It has a wide range of applications in the chemical industry, mainly due to its high melting point and lubricating properties, making it a major component in many lubricants and fatty acid waxes. It is commonly used in industrial lubricants, automotive lubricants, mold release agents, etc., to reduce friction and wear and prolong equipment life.

Furthermore, it is extensively used in cosmetics and personal care products. It serves as an ingredient in many emulsions, conditioners, soaps, and cosmetics, adding thickness, improving texture, and enhancing stability. Hard acid salts are also utilized as surfactants in detergents, cleaners, and emulsifiers, aiding in the removal of oil and stains, making cleaning easier.

Additionally, it finds wide application in pharmaceutical products, paints and coatings, and the food industry, among other areas.

China is one of the world's largest producers and consumers of hard fatty acids. According to customs data, from 2018 to June 2023, China's exports of hard fatty acids have shown a steady upward trend both in terms of value and quantity, with an overall export volume increasing by approximately 31.03% during the same period. In contrast, imports have remained relatively stable, with an overall import volume growing by about 25.59% during the same period, except for slight fluctuations in 2019.
