According to statistics from Tianjin Customs, as of the end of May 2023, more than 5,200 used cars were exported from the Tianjin port, showing a year-on-year growth of over sixfold, indicating preliminary achievement of scale development.

        In April 2019, Tianjin, along with Beijing, Shanghai, and other regions, became one of the first batch of 10 areas in China to start the used car export business. As of now, Tianjin has a total of 28 pilot enterprises for used car exports. These enterprises deal in various types of used cars, including commercial vehicles, passenger cars, and new energy vehicles. The cumulative export value has exceeded 1.8 billion yuan.

        To further support the development of Tianjin's used car export business, Tianjin Customs continues to optimize regulatory efficiency and service measures. Through the "direct loading at the port of arrival" model, exported goods can be transported directly from the enterprise to the port. Upon arrival at the terminal, goods that do not require customs inspection can automatically generate customs clearance instructions and be loaded for departure. Compared to the traditional customs clearance process, vehicles prepared for export do not need to be stored in an external yard at the port. After completing customs clearance procedures such as "pre-declaration," enterprises can reasonably schedule an appointment for container pickup before the vessel's cutoff time. This approach provides greater flexibility in logistics transportation arrangements and significantly improves customs clearance efficiency.

        At the same time, this year, the "used car export + bonded + China-Europe freight train" model has been established, further improving the port transportation service environment and promoting the development of a "overseas warehouse" for used car exports. According to Tianjin Customs, the use of China-Europe freight trains for the transportation of used cars, with fast customs clearance in Tianjin, will facilitate the development of the used car export industry in Tianjin and provide new impetus for the high-quality development of foreign trade in Tianjin.
